WV State Inspection
WV State inspections are required for all vehicles licensed in WV. State Inspections for regular passenger vehicles, trailers, and motorcycles are now good for 2 years, to ensure vehicles remain safe to drive.
For any commercial vehicle over 10,000 lbs. or commercially used trailers, a one-year WV commercial vehicle inspection is required. This inspection is performed annually to comply with all DOT regulations.
Annual Federal Inspections are required by the DOT (Department of Transportation) for all commercially used vehicles over 10,000 lbs. The purpose of a DOT inspection is to ensure vehicles are in good condition and all parts and accessories are safe and working properly. Any DOT vehicle licensed in WV requires an annual WV State Inspection. Annual WV state inspections are reciprocal with DOT inspections.
